DETAILS

Students have a number of constitutional rights that must be afforded to them by public schools.  This session will explore those rights, including students’ First Amendment right to free speech, their Fourth Amendment rights related to searches, their right to due process, and more.  Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of what steps schools must take to respect these rights and what limits there are on a student’s abilities to exercise these rights.
