The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization's football division is planning its annual homecoming celebration scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2011.  The homecoming celebration will take place on the Taft field at South Dakota Avenue and Perry Street NE in Washington, DC.  Because of limited funds, the organization is turning to the community to
help make the homecoming celebration a special event for our hardworking players.

The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization http://www.woodridgewarriorsyouthorg.com/
needs the following (please confirm participation by Friday, September 23, 2011):

1.  Deejay - A DJ to come out to the Taft field at South Dakota Avenue and Perry Street NE on Saturday, October 1, 2011, to VOLUNTEER their time.  They are happy to accept a couple of different DJs to cover the entire day.

2.  Marching band - they would really like to have at least one marching band to perform in the parade which will take place around the Taft field.

3.  Other organizations to participate in the homecoming parade - they have suggested but are not limited to dance studios, karate schools, police and/or fire department appearances, boys and/or girls scouts, clowns, moonbounce, etc.

4.  Donations from business and individuals - the Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization is a 501(c)(3) organization.

5.  Team Banner - they need artistic people to assist with making a cool team banner for the players to "bust" through on homecoming day!

If you can help in any way, please contact the Woodridge Warriors via email: wwyowarriorsinfo@gmail.com or by phone: Executive Director, Rudy Knott - 202-498-8972 or Manager, Kenny Brown - 202-316-2280

From the website: The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization is a 501-C (tax-exempt) organization founded over 46 years ago (1963) by Nathaniel Briscoe, Mason Clark, Vernon Ham and Chauncey Lyles. The Warriors were originally the #12 Pioneers Boys Club and fielded competitive teams in basketball, baseball, cheerleading, football and track. Many Warrior alumni have gone on to distinguish themselves as productive citizens in all walks of life on and off the field of competition. The Woodridge Warriors are perhaps the only youth sports program in the Washington metropolitan area that has produced athletes competing in three of the major sports, baseball, basketball and football. Several of our cheerleader alumni have even gone on to cheer professionally for our own Washington Redskins.
